Hope + Theresa's Flora-filled Spring Engagement Session at the Arboretum

Now that Spring is finally here, I’m starting to get really excited about all the bloom filled portraits we’ll be capturing this year, so I just had to share Hope and Theresa’s playful Arnold Arboretum engagement session from 2022.

We did this session right as the flowers began to unfold at the Arboretum, which is around mid April. Lots of magnolias and forsythia and cherry blossoms, and what a golden hour to top it all off!

One of my favorite things about this session was the styling. Hope and Theresa came with a total vibe, and I love how comfortable and themselves they both look in their photos as a result. The pair opted for just one outfit, and made sure it really represented them as individuals but also their relationship. I love the attention to detail, and the nods to queer love and feminism.

About halfway through the session, Hope surprised Theresa by proposing to her. Theresa didn’t know that they planned a counter proposal and was totally surprised. We worked it out in advance so I had the opportunity to capture the perfect shots for that moment. Keep scrolling to take a look! We even got a little rainbow lens flare 🏳️‍🌈
