Jack + Andy’s Winter Engagement in Boston Public Garden & Beacon Hill
There’s something so magical about Boston in the winter — the quiet of the Public Garden under a layer of snow, the cozy lights strung through Beacon Hill, and the way the city feels like it’s wrapped up in its own little snow globe. Jack and Andy leaned into all of it for their engagement session, and it could not have been more fun.
We kicked things off in the Boston Public Garden, where the pond was frozen over just enough for them to slide around and laugh like little kids. Their breath turned into tiny clouds in the crisp winter air, and it was such a perfect reflection of the playful, easygoing energy these two bring into every moment.
From there, we wandered up into Beacon Hill, weaving through some of my favorite photo spots in the neighborhood including Acorn Street and Louisburg Square. If you’ve ever been, you know it’s all cobblestone streets, brick row houses, and the dreamiest holiday décor in the winter. Jack and Andy paused to admire the cutesy details and tucked into little corners that felt straight out of a postcard — the perfect backdrop for capturing their story.
We wrapped things up at the Liberty Hotel, where the big windows let in moody sunset light that felt like the most romantic finale to the afternoon. The glow, the architecture, and the way these two fit so naturally together — it was everything.
What I loved most about this session is how unapologetically themselves Jack and Andy were. Queer love deserves to be celebrated and documented exactly as it is — joyful, tender, silly, romantic, and everything in between. That’s what I aim to capture in every session, whether it’s an LGBTQ+ engagement in Boston, a queer wedding on the coast of Maine, or a destination celebration across the globe.
