Dan + Jill met through a mutual friend, a roommate of Jill’s at the time. They had seen each other before at shows on Rugg Road (heck yea!). They chatted for a bit on facebook until one day Dan showed up on her front steps. She didn’t really know him, so they had their first date right there on the front porch. It went so well she ended up inviting him inside and cooking him dinner…

We photographed Jess and Jimmy’s engagement session in 2019 before COVID was even a thing, so coming back together on their actual scheduled wedding date felt like nothing short of a miracle. It was a warm late fall day in Sandown, NH. Rain hung in the air, threatening to change the couple’s plans to have an outdoor ceremony (which it eventually did). You can’t ask for a more perfect wedding venue than historic Hammond Castle, which sits right on the water in Gloucester, MA. Everything about this incredible castle is absolute decadence, from the indoor courtyard to the massive main hall with ceilings as high as Hogwarts. When planning and designing weddings, we often find couples feel pressure to match their aesthetic to something that someone is telling them to be. Whether it’s family saying it needs to be formal, Instagram telling them it should be light and airy, or a venue that says it needs to be on a farm and rustic. Our muses, a real couple named Rebecca and Maya, were bursting at the seams with personality. Their natural beauty, edgy style, glamorous demeanor, and queer love were all things that needed to be celebrated…
